How to edit a document online

The WebClient provides a high-quality automatic preview and editing capabilities for all documents, making an installation of any Office suite unnecessary.

How to view a document

  1. Double-click a document to open it.

  2. File is now opened as an online document.

  3. Edit the document.

  4. Click the Close button on the window tab to close the file.

All existing documents are automatically available for a preview in a preview pane. The menu bar next to the preview provides additional options to work with the document: Properties, History, Notes.

  • Properties: Explore the details about the selected document. The Type shows possible extensions such as: xlsx, pptx, docx, ods, odt and odp. The other file types use other extensions: DOC, PDF, IMAP, TXT, HTML.

  • Notes: The users can use Tags or Note option within this section to discuss online the changes of the unfinished document. The Tags and Note are editable from Document Preview mode.

  • History: Check the list of the revisions from the other collaborators. There is also the Add new version option. (The users cannot go through the revisions online; they have to download them on the server. Still they have a perfect overview about the different versions of the document uploaded by other collaborators – details about when and who made any changes is shown in each revision).
